About Us

We are a congregation of about 250 people.  Most of us are retired, although we have, and very much welcome, younger families.  Many of us have moved here from other places in recent years. Some of us are life-long Presbyterians but many of us have come from other denominations.  We are diverse in our politics and our theology.  About one fourth of us are affiliate members, meaning we are here in the summer as participating members but we retain our memberships in our home churches.

Our life together is marked by:

  • Joyful liturgy and celebration of sacraments, great music and timely preaching, in a setting that shouts of God’s goodness in creation.
  • Serving each other with love and extending that love to others in the Benzie area, Presbytery, the nation and the world.
  • Search for a coherent faith in light of the biblical witness and our reformed tradition in a world of rapid change, challenge and confusion.
  • Warm, welcoming intentional community, focused on learning how to love each other as God loves us.
  • An attitude of openness to all people, to new thoughts and ideas, new opportunities, and to the ever present, ever challenging, Holy spirit who moves among us.
  • Insofar as we are able, following the teachings and example of Christ in all we do and say.
