Presby lingo 101: Per Capita

February 14, 2010 @ 2:06 pm by admin

Per Capita funding is how Presbyterians mutually share the costs of coming together to discern the Spirit’s leading for the future.  It is how Presbyterians participate in the life f the Church universal as we commit ourselves to work and live in fellowship with “all persons of every nation.”  St. Andrews sends $25.00 for each active church member (not family) to support the work of our higher governing bodies: Mackinac Presbytery, the Synod of the Covenant, and the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA).  We can celebrate our “Presbyterianism” by making a special gift to cover this expense, freeing up St. Andrews dollars for our program and mission projects.  The blue envelopes in the pews are especially for Per Capita money, or you can send your contribution to the church office.  Please mark “Per Capita” in the memo line of your check.
