“…You are dust and to dust you shall return.“  (Gen. 3:19)

Repeat these words from Genesis while making the sign of the cross on your forehead.  Notice what feelings arise within you.

Do you feel a sense of relief?
of trust?
of fear?
of emptiness?

Offer your feelings to God, whatever they are, knowing that God is with you in all of them.  (With young children, use the words, “You will always be with God.”)

Prayer: I am dust and to dust I shall return.
