“If any think they are religious, and do not bridle their tongues
but deceive their hearts, their religion is worthless.” (James 1:26)

Search your heart and consider whether you have made any thoughtless or unkind remarks recently.  Have you spoken in the heat of the moment, or without considering how your words might hurt someone else?  Have you indulged in gossip or in conversation that belittles someone else?

Prayer: Search me, Righteous God, and tell me the truth about myself.
