“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; early in the morning I make my appeal and watch for you.” (Psalm 5:3)

Today search your heart and try to become aware of your deepest desire at this moment.  In prayer, sit comfortably with your hands open on your lap.  Then stretch out your right hand with the palm up and open, and place in your open hand your heart’s deepest yearning.  Raise your hand upward, and ask God to pierce your desire with truth and love.  Let your hand return to your lap.  Now raise up your left hand and offer it to God, empty and waiting to receive whatever God will bring.  Lower your left hand again, and sit in silent prayer.
