“The Lord is my strength and salvation; whom then shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1)

It’s been said that those who are truly strong are not afraid to appear to be weak.  Jesus was not afraid to wash his disciples’ feet, taking the role of a household servant.  He taught that in the Kingdom of God the conventional hierarchies are reversed – the first are last, the poor are rich and the chosen are servants.  Do you personally find it difficult to let go, to relinguish control and to surrender?

Prayer:  Jesus, my Savior, as you emptied yourself and so made manifest God’s glory, may I empty myself and surrender to your will, and find there my true self.
