St. Andrews Presbyterian Church

Our Ronnie Lewis lecture series was a success again this year, as we welcomed Dr. Allen Verhey, Professor of Christian Ethics from Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC.  Dr. Verhey delivered a powerful sermon in worship titled, “A Cry From the Edge of Hell,” which was based on the lament texts of Job Ch. 3.  We were joined by several out of town visitors who traveled up to Beulah to hear Dr. Verhey speak.  Feel free to listen to his sermon on this website.  We gathered again, along with community guests, at 2pm for his lecture: “Ars Moriendi, or the Art of Dying.”  I am having some technical difficulties uploading that lecture and PowerPoint presentation, but will continue trying.  Many thanks to John McMillian, Durrette Upton, Rev. Kyle Segars and many others whose planing and hard work made this year’s lecture a possibility.  Dr. Verhey gave his thanks to the congregation for their support and ministry, in this community and beyond.  –Shelaine
