Fellowship
Mission and Function:
Our mission is to provide many fellowship opportunities that strengthen the spiritual connection between members and friends at St. Andrews; therefore, “let’s have fun, play, laugh!”
To do this:
- The Fellowship Committee meets to plan monthly events whereby members of the church can meet for social activities
- Committee members come up with the ideas or use ideas given to them by others; members sometimes “chair” an event or they recruit someone to do so.
- The Committee supports other committees within the church with planning for social events.
- The Committee oversees Sunday morning Fellowship Coffee Hour with volunteers from the entire church body taking turns hosting.
We heartily endorse the following:
“The church that plays together, stays together!”and “If we feed them, they will come.”
Some of our activities over the past several years have included:
- LOTS of potluck dinners
- Special meals such as
- Valentine’s Day Pancake Brunch with the men cooking and serving
- Stone Soup
- Pig Roasts
- Suppers for Six/Eight
- Game nights—for families and/or for adults only
- Attending a play and going out afterwards for dessert
- An annual kayak/canoe trip on the Lower Platte River with picnic
- Pontoon Boat parties
- Fall color tours with special meals enroute
- Attending a Beach Bums game—the Traverse City professional baseball club
