Our Pastors |
Members and friends of St. Andrews are proud to introduce our Pastors, Shelaine Bird and Kyle Segars.

Kyle and Shelaine began their ministry at St. Andrews on August 5th, 2007
ABOUT THEIR MINISTRY . . .
Kyle: “Worship is the center of my ministry because I find preaching the Word, sharing the sacraments, and singing together to be the center of our common lives in mission. Worship is where we are challenged and equipped for the work God has for us to do together. Secondly, I have always enjoyed a focus on Pastoral Care, both in the church and through pastoral visitation. I like to hear peoples’ stories and it helps me get to know people in a deeper way.”
Shelaine: “I am a teaching Elder. . . . That teaching happens in many ways. . . . it happens primarily from the Pulpit, as I wrestle with texts of compassion and challenge. It also happens in the Classroom, where I teach theology, Bible, polity, world religions, and a host of other subjects. Teaching also happens through Administration, as I moderate and train the Session, coordinate Strategic Planning, and help Organize the church family.”
ABOUT WHY THEY WERE DRAWN TO ST. ANDREWS . . .
Kyle: “Your openness, focus on mission, and genuine love for one another suggest that your church might be a place where my family could serve, grow, and guide.”
Shelaine: “St. Andrews. . . .
· has an incredible mission statement: Open Minds, Open Heart, Open Hands.
· is a new church. . . discovering who and how they are as God’s people.
· emphasizes Mission . . .
· is a diverse congregation. . .
· has members with a high level of education. . .
· is led by competent, energetic lay leadership. . .
· is interested in a Co-Pastor model of clergy leadership . . .. [we] are seeking a congregation that will embrace us with our unique gifts and experiences, and benefit (spiritually and numerically) from having two dedicated pastors serving God within their community.”
